Class Descriptions
Hips, Abs and Legs: Power Yoga
This is a fitness based posture (asana) practice that is designed to integrate energetic principles that allow you to both strengthen the body, release tension and prepare for meditation. The physical focus of the posture practice is, obviously, hips, abs and legs.
By the end of the flow, we are preparing for final relaxation, followed by a 5 minute meditation.
Slow Flow
This is a slow moving power class that is more meditative throughout. The focus here is on connecting to one's own rhythm and breath and cultivating a lengthening breath throughout the course of the practice.
This class is suitable to beginners, but it is challenging for all levels, and I mean all levels.
Vinyasa for Strength
Get ready to turn yourself upside down! This class is unique. Every week we work on building core, arm and leg strength in arm balances. We do this in preparation for handstands, forearm balances and headstands.
Every week we spend at least 20 minutes workshopping the inverted section of the class. There is room for all levels. I only ask that you come willing to experiment and open to having fun. Every one gets wall space and there are beginner, intermediate and advanced versions of all the poses practiced.
